Liz Goodwin has been a dedicated flute player since an early age. In her working life she was originally a classroom teacher with responsibility for music. After her children were born, Liz returned to studying the flute again and became a peripatetic flute teacher. In 1988 Liz founded Flutewise, an organisation for promoting the flute and flute playing especially amongst the young. Through Flutewise, a quarterly magazine is produced for its members and a wide range of events are held. Liz has worked with most of the very best flute players from around the world.
Every summer Liz teaches on her summer school for young players in Croatia; the rest of her time is divided between Flutewise events, the magazine, teaching, playing and duties as a JP in Sussex.
